Responsible for project management, including supervision of design team, budgets, coordination with Survey Department; development of computerized site plans, grading plans, construction plans, and wellhouse design; approvals from Planning Commissions, Township Boards, County Agencies, and State departments; construction documents, geo-technical soil investigations, cost estimates, construction bidding, and oversight of construction activities.  Project management duties included development of contracts, client contacts, and public presentations.  For three years I served as Township Engineer to the Planning Commission of Handy Township, providing professional consulting services, written review comments, and attendance at their meetings.

 

Town Engineer      March 1993 - November 1995
Town Hall, Hamden, Connecticut

Department Head for twelve employees, including designers, survey crew, and construction inspectors.  Traffic consultant to the Police Department.  Assisted residents with general engineering questions and concerns.  Developed and managed departmental budget of approximately $500,000.  Additional responsibilities included serving as staff to the Planning Commission, Conservation Commission, and the Town Council; liaison to regional planning agencies, Department of Environmental Protection, and ConnDOT; expert witness in court; and engineering supervisor of Town construction projects.

Developed plans for industrial offices, corporate plazas, and residential subdivisions, including road designs and septic systems.  Presented projects and engineering studies to municipal and state agencies, including Planning & Zoning, ConnDOT and the Department of Environmental Protection for approvals.  Supervised survey crews and managed office and computer operations.

 

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCIES

STORMWATER MANAGEMENT   Drainage engineering, including the design of flood controls, wetland mitigation, and environmental enhancements.

FIELD EXPERIENCE   Field experience in surveying, environmental inspections, drainage problems, and construction sites.
